Who Should Peter Nowak Start Against Nigeria?
Marvell Wynne will feature on an unchanged backline for the US, but the rest of the team sheet faces questions going into tomorrow’s match/photo from FIFA.com
With Michael Bradley and Freddy Adu suspended but the US needing a draw to guarantee a place in the final eight, what lineup should Peter Nowak use?
Should he revert to a 4-4-2 or stick with the 4-5-1 which has allowed the US to control possession in both matches of the competition thus far?
Here is how I see the 4-5-1 scenario:
———————————Guzan——————————————-
Wynne————–Edu———————Parkhurst——————–Orozco—–
———————–Szetela——————Feilhaber—————————
Davies—————————-Kljestan——————————-Holden—-
———————————McBride—————————————–
or the 4-4-2
———————————Guzan——————————————-
Wynne————–Edu———————Parkhurst——————–Orozco—–
——————————–Feilhaber——————————————
Holden————————–Kljestan———————————Rogers—–
—————–Altidore——————-McBride———————————
Ultimately which choice will Peter Nowak make and what are everyone’s thoughts about player selection for tomorrow’s massive match?

Play Rogers in place of Holden in a 4-5-1.
Holden’s mind is probably some place else after the disastrous end to that game the other day.
Same thoughts. Rogers and his speed instead of Holden and his mistakes.
I believe in your 4-5-1, except i’d like this:
-Szetela in front of the back for (d-mid if you will)
-Feilhaber and Kljestan in front of Szetela, (paired center mids)
I think this gives us enough defensive shape, and punch, along with a midfield that CAN hold posession, to give us our best chance.
