MLS Talk Podcast : This Week in US Soccer, September 16, 2011
On the latest (late) edition of the Major League Soccer Talk Podcast : This Week in US Soccer, your host Chris Riordan is joined by guest host (and original host) Kartik Krishnaiyer, filling in for out of town Chris Webb. As we turn back the wheels of time on the show, welcoming back Kartik, the first segment is comprised of recent news items. The two biggest topics being the unfortunate passing of MLS original and FC Dallas great, Bobby Rhine, as well as the likely Bob Bradley move to coach the Egytian National Team.
The second segment is devoted to Concacaf Champions League talk. Matchday 3 for the MLS teams is broken down, as MLS slowed down a bit on their early success from the first two weeks. The crew wonders if we haven’t returned to the same old script for MLS teams in Mexico after the Galaxy’s heartbreaking late loss and TFC’s thrashing. Still, there is the maximum – pointed Seattle Sounders who are unblemished in CCL. Then Chris flies through an extremely condensed league review portion.
The final segment is a free – for – all discussion of the current state of the USMNT under the new Jurgen Klinnsman era. The friendlies against Costa Rica and Belgium are discussed, as well as the best current lineup and future potential key cogs for the Red, White and Blue. After National Team Talk, Kartik updates us on the NASL season, which is heading into playoff time. All this and more on the latest MLS Talk : TWIUSS!!!!
