I generally like the podcast but if you are going to focus on MLS
please keep more current with what is going on in terms of
motivations behind things. This week it was Kris Boyd, who picked
portland over houston reportedly because of the weather. Yet chris
didnt know this was the reason. This wasnt a tiny unknown fact
which i might excuse but was widely reported everywhere. Every week
there are things like this that are widely reported but baffle
chris and it hurts the credibility of the podcast.

  2. Chris Webb says:

Since we missed the previous week’s podcast due to unforseen
issues, we had generally two weeks of bullet point notes to roll
through in just about an hour. Do some details get overlooked from
time to time? Sure they do. The point is is that MLS got a very
good striker in Kris Boyd and quite honestly, does anyone really
care if it was because of the weather? Houston will play Portland
and can settle the matter at that time. With all due respect, this
is a minor issue and doesn’t damage the podcasts credibility in the
least. We bring this to the people out of love for the game and
quite frankly for the lack of a national weekly MLS hour-long show.
Thanks for listening and please continue to send us your thoughts.
    Chris Webb

Guys -Thought I’d weigh in on the US vs. Europe question that you
posed on the 2/8/12 podcast. I have been a strong believer in our
(U.S.) young prospects remaining in MLS as long as possible in
order to develop for the national team. The results of those
heading off to Europe resulting in stronger apperances in the
National team kit is mixed at best. Even the most successful
American in Europe, Clint Dempsey, has not shown us much on the
field (as opposed to his Fulham form.) It is also great to see
Jozy, Sasha and Michael Bradley doing well, but where are the
dividends? Let’s consider the other aspect of this argument as
well. Those that make the jump and linger on the bench (this seems
to be thawing a bit), but the Adu’s, Mathis, Johnsons’ and Conveys
of the world…could their form have been worse off by staying in
MLS? Certainly one cannot argue the paycheck aspect of this
argument, however, from a pure talent development standpoint that
results in improved performances for the US National team? I have
    yet to see it.
