MLSTalk Podcast: August Is A Time For Goals

What a week for goals in domestic soccer, and your MLSTalk Podcast Team of Earl Reed, Daniel Feuerstein, and Robert Hay take a look at the week that was goal happy. From the Olympic Women’s Semifinal between the United States and Canada, to the thrashing that Seattle Sounders handed to the Galaxy, it was not a week for the fans of defensive solidarity.

The team also discusses the rest of the league matches, the CONCACAF Champions League results, plus previews the U.S. Open Cup Final for Wednesday between Sporting Kansas City and Seattle. Some recent trades are discussed, though at the time of recording the team was unaware of the Donovan Ricketts-Troy Perkins swap between Montreal and Portland, respectively. Our next podcast will give analysis of this exchange of goalkeepers.

Additionally, MajorLeagueSoccerTalk.com would like to send our condolences and prayers to the family, teammates, and friends of Columbus Crew midfielder Kirk Urso, who passed away over the weekend at the age of 22. An NCAA Champion with the University of North Carolina, we express our thoughts and prayers with those who were closest to Kirk.
