Portlandia, Via NBC (MLSTalk Podcast)
In this week’s episode of the Major League Soccer Talk podcast, Robert Hay is your guest host and walks the panel through a critical weekend in the 2012 playoff race. This week, Robert welcomed back to the podcast Chris Webb (of UnitedMania.com) and introduced new panelist Chris Singer of Global Football Today, who as a suffering Timbers fan gave the podcast a West Coast flare. In the first segment, the panel talked about the critical results from the past weekend, including why home field isn’t necessarily an advantage for New York and Sporting Kansas City, the importance of NBC broadcasting the Portland v. Seattle match, and whether Dallas now has the inside edge in the Western Conference race.
In segment two, we discuss the last moves of the MLS transfer window, including a familiar name coming home, before diving in DC United’s first match post-Dwayne DeRosario. Chris Webb also breaks down Juan Toja and why Revs fans should have hope. And finally, we go through the rest of the weekend’s result before sharing the matches we are looking forward to most midweek.
