Shutouts Galore (MLSTalk Podcast)

The first legs are over in the 2012 MLS Cup Conference Semifinals, and shutouts were the name of the game in this round of matches.

I am joined in this episode by Lisa Erickson, Chris Webb, and MLSTalk’s Daniel Feuerstein as we recap the weekend matchups, from the nil-nil on Friday at CenturyLink all the way to the stoppage time winner on Sunday night for San Jose. We also touch on a couple of news items.

One Response to Shutouts Galore (MLSTalk Podcast)

  1. Robert Hay says:

I skip a podcast and the panel turns on me, sheesh.

I agree that my KC pick looks shaky right now but there is a path to victory for Kansas City:
    1. As the panel said, they need to score first and score quickly. With an expected impressive home crowd, keeping them in the match to give a little momentum is key.
    2. If Hainault plays instead of Taylor in the back, that’s a downgrade for Houston and could open a crack in the bunker, albeit a small one.
    3. KC doesn’t need to win this match in regulation – get it to extra time and the advantage shifts to KC again.

Again, Houston has a major advantage but it ain’t over yet.

And I am looking forward to more Chris Webb podcasts on United Mania, although I fear the donks may be going corporate ;-)
