North American 2012 Summer Soccer Friendlies Schedule
Love ‘em or hate ‘em, summer friendlies are a way of life for the North American soccer fan. Every year teams from across the world descend on U.S. and Canadian soccer stadiums looking to boost their revenues while entertaining die-hards from both sides who want nothing more than to see their favorite team play live, albeit in a meaningless friendly. Very rarely of any immediate consequence, these games give younger players a chance to make a name for themselves while making money for the European club to purchase shiney new players. If the MLS or local team wins, it enters their lore as that time they beat Chelsea or AC Milan.
It can be hard to track the number of teams and places where friendlies occur over the summer, so we here at Major League Soccer Talk want to provide you with a one-stop source for these summer tours. We have listed all of the announced games in Canada and the United States by city and, once tickets are available, we will be linking to the page where you can purchase tickets to the game. Games in italics are reported but not finalized, with a link to the report included. For those Australian readers, you might want to check out TAB Sportsbet Soccer Betting, who have markets for a majority of the upcoming matches.
Let us know if you hear of any friendlies not listed on this page, and enjoy your international soccer this summer!
